Estimation of instantaneous parameters of speech signals with Teager-operator and Hilbert-Huang-transform

In order to analyze the fine structure of speech signals, methods for determining nonlinear and non-stationary characteristics of speech are necessary. In this paper the Teager-operator and the Hilbert-Huang Transform (HHT) are presented as speech processing methods suitable for the estimation of instantaneous amplitude and instantaneous frequency.
